Christmas Presence

Christmas presents are generally here today and gone tomorrow and yet the idea of a Christmas without them would seem crazy to us in Britain today. We can be taken up with planning and buying and wrapping and giving and it’s fun to celebrate the coming of Jesus in this way.

 

Meanwhile, the presence of Jesus that is life changing and everlasting is often overlooked at Christmas, at the very time of year when he ought to be in the forefront of our minds.

 

As the years go by and the children seem to receive more and more presents, sometimes we are willing to settle for less than God longs to share with us.

 

At Burlington this Christmas we will be taking some time to contemplate this truth. Join us and let’s forget the Christmas presents for a while and concentrate on the only presence that matters, His.
