Church Weekend 2011

17th - 19th June at Vauxhall Farm

This years Church Weekend took place from 5pm Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June, 3pm at the beautiful premises of Vauxhall Farm, Great Wenham CO7 6QQ, 9 miles from Ipswich.

We had an excellent weekend with Matt Summerfield from Urban Saints, here are the recordings of the sessions:

Cynicism and Hope Cynicism dressed up as realism kills hope. How will we respond? Dream big! Say to God ‘I dare you!’ Matt Summerfield 19 Jun 2011
God is in the business of moving rocks The bible starts with harmony and ends with heaven. In between, there is us Matt Summerfield 19 Jun 2011
Jesus is Dangerous Jesus is radical and dangerous, and calls us to danger with him Matt Summerfield 18 Jun 2011
From sinner to disciple Jesus shocked the establishment by choosing a sinner as a disciple Matt Summerfield 18 Jun 2011

Facilities

This complex of purpose-made buildings, sited next to the picturesque and immaculately kept Period Farmhouse owned by Ivan Fenning and his sister Mary Harpur, has been developed together with the Vauxhall Christian Trust.

It provides excellent facilities for church groups and young people’s camps and we will have exclusive use of the complete site for our entire weekend.

Vauxhall boasts a magnificent Function Barn - in regular use for wedding receptions - massive kitchens - a new dining hall - a large permanently erected marquee - games room & swimming pool.

It has a lake on the camp field and separate ladies/gents toilets and showers.

The full programme will be arranged to ensure day visitors will be able to participate in all the events each day.

Accommodation

You can attend the weekend as either a day visitor or stay on site in your own tent or caravan. See booking form.

If you would like to stay on site but do not have your own tent, please speak to me (Jane Hewson) as we do have limited resources available.

Catering

We have booked an independent caterer for the entire weekend and we anticipate Burlington only being required to give minimal help for setting out/clearing up etc. in the dining areas.

Please ensure you let me know if you would like any meal to enable the caterers to provide correct amounts. Don’t forget to tell me if you have any special dietary requirements.

Booking

The cost of the full weekend for residential campers is:

£56 (adults)
£30 (11-17 years inclusive)
£25 (4-10 years inclusive)
This includes all meals.

For Day visitors the cost includes meals and the charge made by the Farm of ‘day visitors’. You can choose to have breakfast as an extra. Lunch and evening meals are included. See booking form.
In addition, we will be operating a new ‘pay what you can afford’ policy for the Church Weekend. This, we hope, will allow everyone the opportunity to come. We, as a church, would value your being there and so you are invited to come and to pay only whatever you can afford. Equally, if you are able to pay more, then we would invite you to give a gift in addition to your full costs for the weekend. By paying more you will be supporting someone else who pays less.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information, and let me know your interest in coming as soon as possible (by Easter Sunday).

With Every Blessing

Jane Hewson (Co-ordinator the Church Weekend)
