Regular activities
Here is a brief description, in alphabetical order, of each of our regular activities at Burlington. Please see This Week for details of activities this week.
Contact
A variety of monthly Saturday evening activities throughout the year bringing the church family together.
The Discovering Church Membership Course
An essential introduction for anyone exploring issues of Christian Faith & Church Membership. All potential members attend this course.
The Discovering Spiritual Maturity Course
A 7 week course (with breakfast!) for church members that explores the 6 fundamental habits for spiritual growth.
The Discovering My Ministry Course
A course for all those who have completed the Maturity Course and are seeking to find their significant role in our church.
Emerge
Emerge is our small group programme for young people.
Eternity
Eternity is our youth programme for young people.
Evening Communion Service
This is a more traditional styled evening service than The Gathering with an emphasis on quiet reflection and bible teaching. This service concludes with Communion.
Events4Men
Fancy some guy time? A place where you can talk about your latest fishing success or sport with people who understand?
If the answer is yes, then please come to the next Burlington Events4Men.
The Gathering
The Gathering is a contemporary music based worship service. There is an emphasis on creativity and extended times of sung worship. It seeks to provide an opportunity for us to relax in God’s presence and listen to what he might say to us. Usually the first Sunday evening of the month.
Junior Church
A full programme for children and young people during the adult Bible teaching time on a Sunday morning- see link.
Lunch Club
A two course cooked lunch, offering friendship and support to older friends.
Usually meets every Thursday.
The Prison Team
A team from Burlington takes the Sunday services at Hollesley Bay Prison.
Share Scheme
In partnership with Social Services we take bags of toiletries and food to people facing a particular emergency.
Small Groups
Burlington has around 15 small groups, including young people’s groups, meeting regularly across Ipswich and the surrounding area for Bible Study and prayer- see Small Groups.
Tiddlywinks
A morning for mums, dads, grandparents, carers and their little children. Craft, toys, coffee, singing and socializing are all part of these friendly mornings for the under 4’s.
Usually meets on a Tuesday morning.
Together @ BBC
This is an initiative from the Pastoral Team bringing the church family together for activities and friendship. Events take place throughout the year including walks, BBQ’s, swims and other activities.
Toy Library
An extensive library of toys that can be borrowed through our Toy Library service.
Usually open on Wednesdays 9.30-11am.
Women’s Fellowship
An afternoon of friendship and support usually with a topical outside speaker.
Usually fortnightly on a Wednesday afternoon.
