Small Groups - Global Gospel SeriesAugust to November 2010 dates & themes In a church our size small groups are essential. They include social times, bible study, prayer and support. If you are not already part of a small group now is a great time to join. If you are interested or simply want to know more please contact Simon’s PA, Katie Ruffles. The following shows the Sunday teaching series Global Gospel and Small Group study dates for this series.
Also why not follow the Bible reading plan.
*Prayer & Share
Many groups are taking the opportunity to meet during the first week of the month simply to share and pray together. This is an ideal opportunity for us to hear what God is doing in each other’s lives and to pray for one another.
**Small Group Extra
An additional week gives us the opportunity to do something different in our groups: either to work on a project, spend time deepening our relationships and enjoying being together or arranging something that helps reach others not yet part of our community. With our renewed emphasis on the pastoral ministry that our small groups have this is an important opportunity. Enjoy!
Bible reading plan
The bible is full of passages and verses about the broken world we live in and the God who transforms. To go alongside our Sunday’s sermons and Small group material we have a suggested bible reading plan that helps us read some of the key scriptures on this issue.
Our major text is Luke’s second book of the bible- Acts. We will begin by reading this, learning from the early church about their passion for God, transformation of hearts and lives and incredible missionary zeal. The Second part of the bible reading notes are a number of key texts on Justice, Mercy and of a God of righteousness. Finally as we come towards Christmas we will read once again the Story of Jesus being born. He came as a man, leaving the glory of Heaven to come and live a poor and lowly life. Let’s read and learn about Jesus’ attitudes and then live that way too. The reading plan is designed for you to read a section of scripture Monday to Friday. The weekends can be used to catch up or re-read a scripture. |
